WHO WE ARE.

My name is Shane Potts born in 1973 and have run a business since taking over from my father who died suddenly when i was 21.
You could say i was brought up in the heating industry…kind of…!! My father was a chimney sweep for as long as i could remember. He had a sweeping business in the North East just out side Durham, and things were a little tough in the 70’. In the early 80’ he moved to Somerset and went into partnership with another sweep called David Mitchell who was a founder member of the National Association of Chimney sweeps.
The last thing i wanted to do when i left school was be a chimney sweep, so the first trade i trained in was brickwork and construction. This was a good trade and work kept coming in but i was not satisfied, so i continued in college getting retrained as a plumber and then obtained my Corgi registration now known as Gas Safe.
We continued as a business in the South West of the UK and covered all aspects of domestic plumbing and then got involved in commercial plumbing and biomass.
I married a Yorkshire lass in 1992 and finally now in 2019 we have decided in my wife’s words to “go home.”
I must admit falling in love with Yorkshire was not difficult, and i am looking forward to the challenge of starting a reliable business all over again.
